How often do you find yourself struggling to remember something to do with a contact on your phone? There are plenty of situations where this can occur. It could be a business associate that you met at a meeting but only remember precious few details about, or something lighter such as someone you met on a night out. The bigger that contacts list gets, the harder it is to remember. Humin aims to circumvent such problems by making it so much easier to manage your social interactions.
The idea is that you can search for people by how you think, such as by whether you met them recently or from their location. It saves you having to browse through that huge alphabetical list of contacts, or worse, trying to remember their name. As it requires you to log in via Facebook, you can even search for people according to their mutual friends.
It's a handy system and it works pretty well. Adding contextual information to a relationship is handy, especially for business people who have to keep track of so much information. The moment you meet someone, you can add their details via Humin and the app will remember the location and time that you met them. It's possible to verify details with others for maximum efficiency, too. You can also work together with others so that you both know exactly when you're in the same area as each other, making meeting up so much simpler.
Humin does require a certain amount of trust, given it requires your Facebook details, contacts, and location details, but it doesn't appear to have done anything nefarious with any of it. The only irritant here is that it uses your location at all times, which does affect your battery life quite noticeably.
Despite that quibble, Humin is just the right contacts replacement for those with busy lives to manage. It's so much more intuitive than conventional methods. It'll save you precious time looking up details for people, but more importantly, it'll mean you won't forget anyone's name any time soon.
