High Burger Review

High Burger takes gamers on a quest to build the ultimate burger for customers who are starving. The idea is to stack ingredients in the order that the customer placed them in so gamers can earn the biggest tips.

There are two different control methods: tilt and touch. I preferred to use touch as tilt didn’t feel quite as accurate. As ingredients fall from the sky, gamers must move the bottom bun to catch them in the order that they appear at the top of the screen. It sounds simple at first, but things quickly take a turn. There’s a pesky bird that likes to knock ingredients out of the way, hot chili peppers that send the burger flying high and the burger becomes more difficult to move as it grows taller.

To finish an order, gamers must catch the top bun. Many top buns fall from the sky so be careful or the order may be completed too soon. While the main goal is to complete the order as accurately as possible, players can still move onto the next level by catching other ingredients. This will result in less of a tip, but it’s the only way to complete many of the goals in order to get a higher tip multiplier.

Failing a level means players will have to start all over from the beginning. This is what makes High Burger so addicting because gamers will want to go back and try to beat their old score, but it also leads to frustration.

High Burger is a basic game that’s fun to play intermittently, but I found myself not wanting to play it for very long. It could use an endless mode that lets gamers try to build the tallest burger ever while completing separate goals. Additionally, I thought that the game looked familiar and I realized that it is almost exactly the same as NimbleBit’s Sky Burger. This is rather disappointing.

However, High Burger is completely free to try, and it comes with its own set of goals to complete and a Game Center leaderboard to climb. There are ads that will show up occasionally, but they can be removed through an in-app purchase of just $0.99. I can’t say that I’d highly recommend this game, but it’s worth downloading for those who like simple and free games that help to pass time.
