Gneo allows users to manage tasks effectively so that they can meet their goals. When Gneo is first launched, it’s necessary to sign up for an account before users can gain access so that everything stays synced with all devices. Once the app loads, users will notice a boot camp notebook that helps them get used to how the app works.

There are two separate views: work canvas and forecast. The work canvas is designed to help users prioritize and organize tasks easily so that they can stay focused. This is best achieved through gesture-based actions. Swipe left on a task to get a quick snapshot of it, swipe all the way to the left to quickly edit it, swipe right to follow up later and focus on urgent tasks, and swipe all the way right to delete tasks with a quick swipe. Users can also press and hold on tasks to move them up and down, tap check boxes to complete, and shake their iOS device to undo a deletion.

The most important gesture is adding a task, which is as simple as tapping the plus button in the bottom left corner. Once a task is added, provide a name, set it as important or urgent, add it to the desired notebook, and place it into one of the following six categories: notes, reminders, files, tags, locations, or follow up.

One of the most impressive features is the ability to create notebooks, which helps users to stay even more organized. To add a notebook, tap on the bottom right corner. Smart notebooks let users organize their to-dos into different categories so everything isn’t cluttered in one location. This makes it possible to have separate notebooks for home, hobbies, and even work.

Additionally, Gneo integrates with Evernote to sync notes, files reminders and tags, and integrates with calendars to put everything in one easy-to-use location. To view the calendar, simply switch to forecast view. Other features worth mentioning include a section just for goals, the ability to search for items quickly, and settings that help users get the most out of Gneo.

Like most apps, it does have a few flaws that need to be addressed, which are mainly missing features that its competitors already have - such as a desktop client, inline editing, the ability to set repeating tasks, auto-deletion, and an option to select a specific calendar in the app. While there are a few disappointments, Gneo is definitely worth watching as it has a lot of potential.
