Geomex is a great color / pattern matching game with plenty of variation to give it value

Geomex is a yet another color matching game — but this one throws in a whole bunch of variations and twists on the theme. The app is very nicely finished and the game play has been well thought out.

The main variation on the color matching theme is that you have multiple color and multiple shape types. Depending on the game mode you must match the same piece type either with the same or a different color. The game play modes included in Geomex are Arcade, Chain, Mono, and Clear. And each game mode includes help and high score tables.

In addition to the above endless falling pieces game variations, there’s also a puzzle mode. In this mode the idea is to remove all of the blocks by sticking to the matching rules. You can only move on to the next of 24 puzzles by completing it successfully.

While I think the price for Geomex is not too competitive with other games in the App Store these days, it is a very well thought out and well executed game. If you are a fan of puzzle games, this is a good one — and with the variations and play modes not one that you’ll quickly finish.
