Flyro Review

Flyro isn't your average endless runner. The developers have made this very clear just from reading the app description alone which ensures players that Flyro will never bore them thanks to dynamic difficulty along with having world-class graphics - but can Flyro live up to all of this hype?

In Flyro, players take control of a bird aptly named Flyro. Flyro has been given the all-important task of salvaging his town which has been frozen over by the evil Moustermind, who cannot stand the inhabitants of Birdtown. Thankfully, Flyro is rescued from the freezing over of the town, and so now must set off on his own to restore balance to Birdtown.

When the developers of Flyro say that they put a new spin on the endless runner genre, they really do mean it. It appears that Flyro seems to have mastered the genre. Players will admire the easy control scheme (move your finger across the bottom of the screen to move Flyro, and release your finger to set him alight - which allows him to burn through obstacles). The game has also managed to implement dynamic difficulty perfectly - meaning that skilled players won't be having an easy time beating the scores of all their friends!

Flyro players will notice that throughout the game they can collect coins. Unfortunately, at the moment these coins serve no purpose but to add points to the score. It would be nice to see in future updates the ability to spend these coins on upgrades such as extra lives and boosts.

Throughout the game, players will notice that there are what are known as "Fireball Tokens" scattered throughout the levels. The idea of these is that once the player collects the amount designated in the bottom left corner that Fireball mode will be activated. This basically spawns a massive fireball that destroys everything that it touches, and is controlled by the player hitting it with Flyro.

With beautiful graphics, incredibly well thought out controls and gameplay so addictive players will wonder where the time has gone, Flyro is definitely worth a buy in my book!
