Stylish to look at and intuitive to use is a good combination for any app. It’s also a combination that works so well for Flight. The app is a flight tracking tool that shows users their flight status in real time, along with weather information and some stylish background imagery.

It’s very easy to set up. Including three randomly chosen flights to immediately demonstrate how intuitive it is, the app simply requires one to drag a finger downwards to add a new one. Users can then choose to search for a flight by Flight Code or Route. The former requires the entry of an airline, flight number, and date, while the latter requires From and To data, as well as an airline and date. It doesn’t take long to enter, with auto completion possible for the airline involved.

flight6flight3Once a flight has been set up, the main screen offers flight details such as the terminal and gate, as well as whether the flight is scheduled, en-route, or has landed. A quick swipe upwards offers up more detailed weather information than the background suggests with temperatures for both the to and from side of the flight. Information on airplane used as well as the airway and length of the journey is also available.

Throughout, Flight is very stylish to look at. Offering up to three flights saved at any one time, it’s easy to swipe through and check what’s going on. The overview of temperature and weather conditions is also very handy to know what’s going on ahead of time. It’s unfortunate that it’s not possible to email or share elsewhere such information, which would have been great when traveling with others, but otherwise Flight scratches most of the relevant itches. For the regular flyer, I can see this being very useful indeed.
