I can't say that I've played every iPhone pinball game, but I have played better pinball on other mobile devices. Just because it may or may not be the best pinball game on this device doesn't mean that it has to be a solid, 4-5 star pinball experience.

As for the phone call portion, I try not to put such things in reviews because many of the readers are iPod Touch users that don't have to worry about such things. It is good to know though… good find.

I agree with Ujn Hunter. While your points are valid, I feel this is the best pinball for the iphone and that is something that your review didn't mention or point to a better pinball app. The graphics are far better than anything else that I have seen and the physics seem pretty top-notch to me. I have had a ton of fun playing this game and felt it was much better than Wild West in terms of game layout. I hope their next game will have the elusive multi-ball and top-flipper, but I am quite happy with my .99 purchase on this one. Also, I don't really mind the camera zoom although it does tend to kick in when you can't do anything to to the ball or paddles.
One other BIG omission in your review is the fact that the game resets if you get a call. I've been on a killer score on my first ball and then I get a call and it all comes back to a new game. ARGH! Do I have to play this game in airplane mode or what?

- CAMERA VIEW MODES (you can see all pinball table without any camera movements)
- VOICES ON/OFF (now you can turn off all voices in game)
- MUSIC ON/OFF (now you can play you own music in iPod)
- OS 2.x COMPATIBILITY

Hmmm, I was going to buy this game cause I like pinball games. But am reconsidering based on your review and the comments. I think I just saved a buck!

I can't complain too much for $0.99 it's a decent pinball experience. I have yet to find a better one on the iPhone. If there is a better one, point me to it!

Space Cadet is still one of the great digital pinball interpretations. I totally agree!

I bought The Deep based on Wild West Pinball. I am very surprised at how similar they are. I expected a bit more than just polish. And, honestly, I feel the camera zoom to the flippers worked better for me in Wild West =(

With the solid physics foundation, and a great sense of graphic design, *and* a firm grasp of classic pinball layout, this group could totally rock the iPhone with an intense, multi-flipper, multi-level, fireworks bangin' experience.

I hope The Deep was just the middle step between taking Wild West, tweaking it, and making it flashier so they could score so cash… ya'know, as warm-up for a pinball game that'll really kick ass =)

Good call on this one. I'd rate it 3 stars overall. It really is just a more polished Wild West Pinball.
