World of Tanks Blitz has finally rumbled out on Android

Free-to-play online tank warfare game World of Tanks Blitz, has finally arrived on Android, courtesy of Wargaming.net.

World of Tanks Blitz features cross-platform play, so if you were desperate to face your iOS friends in combat, rest assured that you can. Don’t be disheartened if your tank explodes into a shower of shrapnel - they have had six months head start.

The original World of Tanks arrived on PC just over four years ago, but this is no mere port. It’s been built from the ground up with mobile in mind. That means well-executed touchscreen controls and slightly different visuals - which are impressive by mobile standards.

The matches are brief enough that you can jump right in on your coffee break and feature 7v7 tanks battling in one of ten different arenas. Oh, and did we mention there were over 100 iconic tanks from Great Britain, Germany, United States, and USSR to choose from?

Though in-app purchases are available in this game, they don’t offer a distinct advantage. Wargaming wants to keep it fair, just like in the PC version, with free-to-play users being able to compete on a level playing field with those who pay.

With real life physics, detailed tutorials, and plenty of in-game achievements to hunt, there’s a lot of game on offer here for free - so there’s no real reason not to check it out. Wargaming also promises to continue providing updates and graphic enhancements well after launch.
