I can't count the number of times that I've heard developers say that it's impossible to break into the top 10 anymore. You just can't do it without a massive marketing budget, a huge name, or a giant price drop. It's accepted that this is the case.
Well it's time for all of those negative thinking developers to eat their words. Turns out you really only need to do one thing to break into the top 10. You might even go all the way to number 2 even.
That's what Andreas Illiger has done with Tiny Wings. It's come out of no where and jumped all the way to number 2 on the top paid charts in just a couple days. What's the secret to doing this? The game is just so well executed that it makes people that play it want to tell everyone about how great it is.
