It's been a little over a year since the release of the Nintendo Switch. AAA studios and small indie devs alike have warmly embraced the console, and it’s not hard to see why. There have been some really great games on the Switch over the first twelve months of its life-span, which got us thinking.

And some of those games would be great additions on other mobile devices. So here are a few games out on Switch that should totally be ported to iPhone and iPad. If you’ve got your own suggestions, make sure you chuck them in the comments at the bottom of the article. With that out of the way, let’s get on with it.

The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker

This is a full motion video puzzle game. You play as a therapist who’s given a bunch of new patients after the mysterious murder of their therapist, Doctor Dekker. You type in questions to the patients to try to figure out if any of them are responsible for the crime.

You need to look out for keywords that the characters mention to increase your understanding of them and their relationship to Dekker. This would be perfect on mobile devices since all you need to do is type in your questions. And since it’s just video we’re seeing rather than loads of polygons the game should run smoothly.

The story is mysterious, the characters are well acted, and the gameplay is solid. In other words, The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker would be right at home on mobile.

This is the Police

This is the Police is all about making tough choices with potentially devastating consequences. It’s a management game where you play as the Chief of Police in an unspecified American city.

You’re in charge of all of the officers and detectives, and you send them out on assignments and decide what they should do once they arrive. You’ll also be faced with moral choices, like whether or not to take a bribe from the local mob boss. These are really engaging, and they can drastically change what’s happening in your city.

This is the Police would work well on mobile since it can be played in bite-sized chunks. The game's levels are broken up into days so if you have a spare moment you could just pull out your device, play one, then put it away. Not to mention the minimalist Saul Bass-inspired art would look great on the Retina display.

The Sexy Brutale

A puzzling adventure game set in a lavish casino and hotel. The game is a mixture of traditional adventure game puzzles and Groundhog Day. People are being murdered in the hotel, and you have to stop the culprits. However, you’re trapped in a time loop - whenever an hour of in-game time passes you go back to the beginning of that murder.

You have to gather information by sneaking around, observing the area, and eventually piecing together how to prevent the murder. It’s a really great game on Switch but would also be just as good on mobile.

Adventure puzzle games with such style and flare are in short supply on mobile, and the App Store would benefit from their presence. Walking around could be achieved with a virtual analogue stick, and interacting with objects could be a tap away. The Sexy Brutale, with its neat style and satisfying problem solving, would make a great addition to the App Store.
