The best new games we played this week

We were treated to some excellent games this week. Monument Valley 2 materialized on the App Store, taking us all quite by surprise. While it undoubtedly stole the show this week, there were still a few other new releases that are well worth your time. Let's take a look.

Monument Valley 2

Much to the delight of indie gaming fans everywhere, Monument Valley 2 dropped by surprise this week. Announced by Apple at this year's WWDC, Monument Valley 2 may look familiar, but now throws in two characters to add some extra twists and turns to the puzzle exploration franchise we all know and love.

Guardians of the Galaxy Episode 2

Telltale's Guardians of the Galaxy launched to lukewarm praise, but it's second episode shows that the adventure series is just warming up. The episode doesn't try quite as hard as the first episode, and it's better for it. It feels like a fitting entry for a Guardians story, and we're excited to see where it goes in future episodes.



Oh . . . Sir! The Hollywood Roast

The Hollywood Roast is quite similar to its predecessor, but with loads more movie references. That's not necessarily a bad thing -- the game is loads of fun, especially when playing with other people on the game's local or online multiplayer. As in The Insult Simulator, your goal is to string together insults to "roast" your opponent.
