We've covered the sleek and stylish word puzzler SpellTower in the past, and now the game is back on the radar again with a huge new update -- the first in quite some time -- arriving on February 9.

The game now has a brand new dictionary from Merriam-Webster along with a new gameplay mode, Zen Mode, that lets you play without worrying about length requirements along with a much needed online multiplayer feature. SpellTower is also adding French and Spanish language support to bring even more players into the fold. That's all part of a bigger collaboration with Merriam-Webster, as the famed dictionary will also play a role in an upcoming word game by designer Zach Gage.

Gage is also launching a browser game called SpellTower Minutes that will be featured on the Merriam-Webster website. It's a free, mini version of SpellTower that highlights Tower Mode and assorted variations thereof. Players will be challeneged to see how many points they can earn within different time limits.
