Phantom Rift by Foursaken Media, is an adventure/RPG where players control a powerful wizard who has become lost in the Phantom Rift: a dark place full of man-eating monsters. Wizards will be tasked with side quests as they explore the world and meet NPCs.

A player’s wizard is fully customizable with a full array of equipment. The five levels of rarity with passive abilities and different stats mean plenty of different combinations for collectors.

The innovation of Phantom Rift is its battle system. Similar to a card-based battle, players have a spell pouch that can hold up to 30 of the 120 unique spells that can be found in the game. Players can equip their wizard with different spells to form different strategies, focusing on things like elemental magic or summoning.

The game also has multiplayer integration. Wizards can fight in PvP battles and win spells from their enemies’ pouch as trophies.

Foursaken Media is shooting for a September release for Phantom Rift.

Who Wore it Bests? answers the call of the wild and looks at two games with gun-toting animals: Crazy Dogs and Armed Beasts.

Inspired by Minecraft, Pickcrafter by fiveamp is meant to test players mad tapping skills. Players can tap or swing to break blocks and earn new picks, which can be traded in for treasure chests. If they get on a block-breaking streak their pick will heat up and catch on fire to insta-break blocks.

As players earn more they can unlock new biomes and challenge themselves to top the leader boards. Pickcrafter will have over 50 achievements to keep players purposefully picking.

The game will be free to play, and the release date for Pickcrafter is targeted for August 1.

If you go to a casino, you might make a lot of money. If you run a casino, you’re guaranteed to make a lot of money. The choice seems pretty obvious. So while waiting for your shady real estate deals to move forward, get prepared with Tiny Tower Vegas, the latest follow-up to the smash hit sim Tiny Tower. We become mini casino moguls in this latest edition of It Came From Canada!

Tiny Tower Vegas will feel instantly familiar to fans of the original. Players build their gambling empire floor by floor while keeping customers happy and business flowing. New floors need new employees, and players can choose between who the best person for the job is and who is the most affordable. Customize the tower by putting pyramids or Greek statues on the roof, changing interior décor, and even sprucing up the elevator design. Players can also upgrade the elevator’s speed since they’ll be operating it by hand quite often to get guests where they want to go. And it’s all presented in the same great, low-key pixel art style.

tiny tower vegas 1tiny tower vegas 2But of course, the Las Vegas setting comes with its own demands – even if this seems based on new, classy, family friendly Vegas instead of old, seedy, good Vegas. While some new floors will be the occasional taco bar in need of restocking, the gambling is where the real action lives. Players can try their luck on slot machines and earn extra cash alongside customer revenue. Once the hot streak ends, would-be pit bosses can check up on how their “bitizen” guests are doing by reading the “BitBook” social network, or just sit back and watch the fireworks – the only things brighter than the massive glowing signs.

tiny tower vegas 3tiny tower vegas 4Current Tiny Tower players shouldn’t expect Tiny Tower Vegas to completely reinvent the wheel after its soft launch phase. It’s got some new ideas, so it’s not just a reskin, but it’s so close to the original it’s more spin-off or expansion pack than sequel. But you can decide for yourself once it fully launches.

Huge Update Comes To Duet, Adding 48 New Stages

Our Rating: ★★★★½ :: SWEET MUSIC :: Read Review »

We loved minimalist survival game, Duet, when it was first released last October so we’re pretty sure a forthcoming update for it will make it all the sweeter.

This Thursday you can enjoy the Epilogue Update, which promises to include 48 new epilogue stages, a new storyline, new game features, plus 4 brand new musical remixes.

The original release included 50 stages, so this update very nearly doubles the content already there, and it’s entirely free.

Duet is available now from the App Store priced at $2.99. The update is set to hit the store this Thursday.

Sharknado: The Video Game Available Now. Seriously.

We knew it was coming. And yet, despite the warnings it’s still taken up by surprise. Sharknado: The Video Game is here, and there isn’t anything anybody can do about it.

Lets go through a couple of key points, shall we?

The game’s hero, “Fin” (*rimshot*), runs through the streets of Manhattan cutting down flying sharks (technically they’re not flying, but whatever, they’re in the air) with a sword. He’ll also ride another shark into the very center of the sharknado in order to kill it – by which I mean the tornado with sharks in it – with a chainsaw.

Now my eye won’t stop twitching for some reason.

Anyway, Sharknado: The Video Game is available on the App Store right now, for $2.99. You’ve been warned.

Ok, so we’re all about ready to accept that Kim Kardashian: Hollywood is a big deal on the App Store, regardless of your own personal feelings on the matter. However, did you know there are valuable life lessons to learn from it? And I don’t just mean that it’s a friendly reminder that stepping away from your iPhone is a very good idea sometimes, or that perhaps when you find yourself writing about such games for a living that you should consider a career change. No, I mean it teaches you valuable lessons that you can apply to real life scenarios. Honest.

kim3
Look how frowny-faced that guy looks. Isn’t he just so fed up? Some might say it’s thanks to those tight looking braces he’s wearing, obviously cutting into his shoulders a little too much. Fortunately, Kim Kardashian: Hollywood has some wise advice to offer. He needs to be charmed! Yup! Folks, you need to make room in your day to chat to people and remind them just how charming you really are. The more shallow the comment you make to them, the better. No one cares about depth in this world.

kim5
Fortunately, such charm can easily be applied either through some very expensive and hard to gain premium currency, or you can simply mention that you know Kim Kardashian. Because everyone’s impressed by her presence, right? Right? Don’t expect Mr Grumpypants to cheer up any time soon, though.

kim6
Journalists are leeches. WAIT. I don’t mean me, I’m nice! You know the kind I mean. Lon Garrera here demonstrates the problem. If it wasn’t for that media badge, he’d just be a random stalker with a camera, just waiting for a restraining order to strike him down.

kim7
It’s a long, long path to stardom. Just ask any celebrity, assuming they’re willing to speak to someone as lowly as you. While you could probably get cosy with the right celebrities to work your way up through the ranks, Kim Kardashian: Hollywood goes the classier route, expecting you to work your way up to stardom through grit and determination. Oh, and time. Lots and lots of time. And busywork.

kim8
If you try to talk to someone of the opposite sex in public, odds are someone’s going to think you’re an aspiring home wrecker. No, I don’t know why either, but Kim Kardashian: Hollywood seems pretty convinced of this fact. You need to come up with a date or two to seem less threatening. Always, always have a date spare, even if you’re perfectly happy single. The Kim Kardashian life is pretty archaic on that front.

kim10
Talent isn’t everything. Money, clothes, cars, and homes are all that really matters in terms of being successful and famous. Sad but true if this game is anything to go by. Feel free to weep in a corner.

kim12
Also, knowing the right people is everything. Absolutely everything. In real life, Kim Kardashian won’t give you the time of day, but let’s pretend that she would be this keen to help people get along. Otherwise fame is a much, much trickier path.

kim11
Kim Kardashian: Hollywood does offer one sensible piece of advice, though. Interested in someone and they’re interested in you? Go for it, regardless of if they’re the same gender as you, it doesn’t matter. It’s the 21st century, and while our century is increasingly dominated by the importance of materialism and being in the public eye at all times, we have at least made some progress in terms of acceptance.

Kim Kardashian: Hollywood is available now on the App Store and it’s a free download. I hear it’s sucking up people’s time. In my case, it’s merely broken my soul a bit.

We want to make it easier for these users to manage their inboxes and do it in a way that makes them happy to engage with email again.”

Over at San Diego Comic Con, Bandai Namco announced two new games for iOS: PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX, a sequel to Championship Edition, and PAC-MAN Friends, a new original game for the platform.

PAC-MAN Friends will challenge players to use ‘intuitive’ tilt controls in order to rescue Pac-Man’s nine friends from the ghost’s castle, with the game containing 95 increasingly challenging levels across six worlds. PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX, meanwhile, will bring the three modes of the original (Score Attack, Time Attack, and Ghost Combo) and add in seven zones with over 150 levels between them into the mix. New power-ups and boosts will also make their way into the game, hopefully giving players a leg-up on their way to high scores.

PAC-MAN Friends is set to make its way onto mobile devices this September, whilst PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX will arrive this November.
