Lost Socks: Naughty Brothers may have a strange title, and it may look like another casual platformers with three star rating systems, but it's actually one of the most brutal and challenging platformers out right now on iOS.

Don't panic though! 148Appshas got you covered with a few tips to help youget you through this brutal game.

Don't just focus on level progress

Lost Socks doesn't really tell you this at first, but you'll need to play a lot of the same levels over and over to be able to pass and unlock new levels.

You might think you'll be fine just bouncing from one level to the next without worrying about getting a score crown or unlocking caged socks, but eventually things will come back to bite you when you find yourself without the right purchased upgrades or unlocked weapons to make meaningful progress moving forward.

How scoring works

One of the more confusing (but important) aspects of Lost Socks is how to get a high score. You might think that collecting tons of coins will get you a higher score, but you'd be wrong.

Instead, the main ways of racking up points are to kill enemies and destroy boxes and other elements of the environment.

Additionally, you can learn special combos to add extra points to your score. Try checking out the combo menu in the right hand corner of the level select screen for tips.

Control tricks

While there are buttons that do specific things in Lost Socks, there are also a bunch of nifty moves you can discover and pull off while playing. Here are some of the most useful ones:

  • If you dash while gliding and keep your finger on the jump button, you'll resume gliding from where you left off instead of falling to the ground.
  • Small taps on the jump button let you perform a short hop.
  • When you land on a floating platform, you can get some extra lift in your jump if you time it right.
  • The default gun may only fire every time you tap the fire button, but guns like the Bustler will continuously fire as you hold the button down. Beware of overheating when you do this though.
