On a surface level, Hovercraft: Takedownseems like just a bit of silly fun. But it's actually got a surprising amount of depth to it.

You can rack up a decent score by simply weaving through traffic and destroying whatever's in front of you, but we have some "outside the box" tips that could help your score skyrocket.

Shoot straight

Your weapons shoot directly forwards from your vehicle, so whatever direction you're facing, you're going to be firing right ahead.

You can use this to your advantage on turns, by hitting enemies way ahead of you on the curve, but there's a slightly more inventive way to utilise it.

If you clip another car, or get hit by a mine, you'll swing around wildly, hitting everything in your path. It's a great way to chip away at cars ahead of you before you focus in on them.

Of course, you'll take damage while you do it, so don't do it too often.

Shed some weight

Actually, maybe you should take damage. Lose one of your weapons and you'll get a 2x multiplier to compensate. Lose both and it goes up to 3x.

You can still score points by smashing into cars, and if you crash into them side-on you'll only take a tiny amount of damage.

So if you're feeling particularly skilled, deliberately lose a weapon to get your bonus multiplier. It's a little tricky to do, but the benefits are obvious.

Never give up

So you're about to die. Too bad. But don't just sit there waiting for the inevitable.

Throw yourself around the road as wildly as you can. You can still destroy other cars up until the point of your demise, and you'll have a 3x multiplier. So use the time to score some bonus points.

Are you better at taking down them cars now? Thank Ric in the comments below!
