Hot Wheels: Race Off Guide - How to keep those wheels a-spinnin'

Hot Wheels is back with a new physics-based racing challenge that has you pulling some tough stunts before you achieve victory. Race along the iconic orange track gathering coins and doing tricks to earn higher scores. It can be tricky, but we have some advice to help you on your way.

Don’t hit the gas in loop de loops
Hot Wheels may seem like kid stuff, but they don’t go easy on you. Fuel is at a premium, with just a few canisters sprinkled throughout each track. Speed up sparingly. You don’t need to use it at all when you’re headed into a loop de loop. The game puts speed boost strips at the start of loop, and it provides enough momentum to get to the other side.

Open your presents
After each track, if you look to the upper left, you’ll see a small “open present” icon. Open these gifts on occasion to get gems and other premium goodies that can help you improve your car. You’ll need these if you want to max out your cars and unlock new ones.

Don’t worry about beating the other player
You’ll be matched against an AI each race, but you don’t really need to win to succeed. The main goal is to complete the track. You can then go back and improve your time or worry about besting the competition. It’s more important to learn how to pace yourself and complete the course without dying or running out of gas.

Hot Wheels: Race Off can be pretty unforgiving as you try to make your way down the track without losing control of your car or running out of important supplies. Use these tips to go the distance and become a pro.
