Fancy your chances as an intergalactic space pirate of sorts? Want to live out that fantasy on the go? Well, then Rogue Universe for iOS and Android might just be the game for you. And, with its global release set for the first half of 2019, you won’t have to wait too long to start playing.

At its core, it’s a space-based strategy MMO that takes aesthetic inspiration from the world of comic books. The basic gameplay loop entails undertaking missions, gaining rare resources, constructing ships, and slowly forming relationships/rivalries with the game’s 3 main factions: the Zurich Bank, U.N.S., and the Black Flag.

Along the way, you’ll need to decide who exactly you want to help out and work worth. But every decision has its consequences, and opting to stick with one faction could end up impacting your standing with the others. Perhaps the ultimate goal of any ambitious space pirate/budding warlord should be a complete universal takeover, and, thankfully, Rogue Universe is all too happy for you to give it a shot.

On top of that, you’re also going to have to spend some time assembling your own fleet of ships, often for the purpose of pillaging other players. And if pillaging them isn’t enough, you could just drive them out of their planet entirely.

If you’re more the friendly type, there’s the option to join a guild and head out together to hunt down rogue NPCs for their loot. Of course, guilds can also declare war on one another in order to get even more honour points and rewards.

You’ll likely spend most of your time in Rogue Universe taking part in the game’s ‘Deep Strike’ story mode. Here, you’ll have the chance to explore and uncover secrets and storylines surrounding the ‘Invaders’, a most mysterious and intriguing group.

So best keep your eyes peeled for this one, as it’s set for a global release on the App Store and Google Play during the first half of 2019.
