Pack your suitcase, kiss your kids goodbye: come June 9th you’re set to be jetting off with astragon’s new flight simulation release, Take Off - The Flight Simulator.

For those who find flying a disconcerting prospect in reality, or just really fancy the idea of soaring into the skies from their office chair, this title offers an immersive experience without the hassle of, you know, having to attend a flight school and buy your own plane.

Saddle up in your own 3D cockpit after choosing from fourteen realistically recreated aircrafts, then set to the skies from a variety of popular airports, such as Paris, New York and Hong Kong. Setting your destinations, you can visit tourist hotspots worldwide, such as London, Sydney and Moscow.

The game begins in a free flight mode, where you can get to grips with the controls by flying freely between Hawaii’s eight main islands – and what a delightful place to start. After you’ve gotten the hang of it, you can progress onto the game’s side projects, including rescue missions, emergency landings and cargo flights.

Said missions will be rewarded with new flight licences which will, in turn, open up an array of bigger planes for you to try out. These planes are accumulated over time and allow players to upgrade the planes within their fleet, thus enhancing safety and speed.

Even if you’re struggling with the prospect of flying your own aircraft, the game includes an in-depth run-through of exactly how to navigate both the game’s controls and the skies themselves.

So, what are you waiting for? Leave your passport behind and get yourself over the App Store or Google Play, stat!
