DragonVale World Guide: How to breed rare dragons and expand your park
DragonVale World is still doing quite well on the App Store. This isn’t entirely surprising considering all of the adorable dragons available in game for you to collect. It’s quite easy to get into an unbreakable dragon breeding loop. While we already discussed some beginner tips, it’s time to get into the nitty gritty and talk some more advanced techniques for creating the ultimate dragon park.
Save up for the Epic Breeding Island
As you grow in levels, you’ll get access to more types of dragons. However, you’ll also unlock new challenges and Airship orders that require you to have rare dragons or more complex hybrids in your collection. These dragons can be hard to attain, but the Epic Breeding Island helps that by increasing the chances of you breeding these special dragons. The island costs a whopping 250 gems, so you should be saving any you get from challenges, visitor rewards, or breeding new dragons for this cause. Resist the urge to spend it on timers and other less important commodities.
Use the Dragonarium to guess which egg you’ll get
When you’re trying to breed a specific dragon, there’s actually a way to figure out if you were successful. When you place dragons in the Breeding Cave, take note of the timer that appears. You can then match that timer to the breeding time listed for each dragon in the Dragonarium. Find a dragon whose typing and breeding time matches and you’ll have a pretty good idea of which egg you’ll be getting.
Check Airship orders in advance
Check the next Airship order ahead of time to get a jump on things. You only have a set number of hours to complete Airship orders, so when the previous day’s Airship sets sail, click on the Airship dock to check out what the upcoming order will be. You can then get started gathering materials and breeding any dragons you don’t have so that you can complete the next challenge in time. Airship orders give you a generous gold, fruit, and experience reward, so try to complete each one.
You can gather more than one item at a time
When gathering materials for the Airship, remember that you can gather more than one of an item at a time. If you need to gather eight fire sand, for example, you can use the little plus and minus signs to increase the amount you want your dragon to collect for you. It ups the gathering time, but simplifies the process.
DragonVale World may look simple from the outside looking in, but there are a lot of things to consider when you become the manager of a dragon park. Use these tips to take your own park to the next level.
