Celebrate Pokémon GO's birthday in style

Believe it or not, Pokémon GO's first birthday has rolled around already, and what a year it's been. Niantic kicked off its anniversary celebrations in June, but now the company's celebrating the official date from now until June 24th with a bunch of new festivities.

For the duration of the birthday event, players will come across wild Pikachus donning Ash's iconic hat from the Pokémon anime. This special Pikachu is limited to this event, so catch it while you can!

Meanwhile premium Anniversary Boxes containing Max Revives, Ultra Balls, and Raid Passes can be found at a discounted price in the shop.

Pokémon GO has had a banner year. The game still boasted 60 million monthly users as of June and players have caught over 125 billion Pokémon. Niantic has been working hard to increase game features, totally revamping the gym system last month, and announcing the start of real world Pokémon GO festivals starting with Pokémon GO Fest Chicago later this month, the tickets for which sold out in mere minutes.

We're certainly excited to see what's next for Pokémon GO. Will we be seeing legendary Pokémon sometime soon? Here's hoping.
