EnbornX - download for iPhone (now 99c)

A brilliant anime-style side-scrolling shooter. It's got a bit of Metal Slug to it, albeit in space and with flying aliens instead of soldiers. Either way, it's a whole heap of fun, and if you're into your arcade action then you're going to love every single second of this.

Final Fantasy IX - download for iPhone (now $11.99)

You can argue all you want, but this is the best Final Fantasy game. A wonderful, heart-warming tall of actors who stumble upon a conspiracy that threatens the very core of their world. It's emotional in all the right ways, and features a cast of characters you can't help but fall in love with.

Pocket Academy - download for iPhone (now 99c)

One of Kairosoft's finest. This one sees you running a school. The cutesy graphics and noose-tight compulsion loop are all in place here, and there's plenty of new tricks and smart ideas as well. A whole bunch of other Kairosoft games are on sale as well, so now's a pretty good time to fill up your library.

Braveland - download for iPhone (now 99c)

A turn-based RPG that takes place on a series of hexagonally gridded maps. You need to build up your army, learn to exploit the territory the game throws at you, and figure out some tricks of your own too. It might not be the deepest game in the world, but if you're looking for a harder-than-midcore experience it's well worth a look.

Mighty Strike Team - download for iPhone (now 99c)

An action platformer with a decidedly retro feel. It's set in the future, and you need to bring the titular team together in order to set a lot of wrongs to right. It offers up a hefty chunk of challenge as well as a whole raft of boss fights to work your way through.

Door Kickers - download for iPhone (now 99c)

This one sees you leading a SWAT-style team on a number of high pressure missions. It's slow and thoughtful, and you need to plan out your every move if you don't want to get shot to pieces within the first few seconds. If that's the sort of thing you're into then this one is definitely worth checking out.

Cook, Serve, Delicious! - download for iPhone (now $2.99)

Run your own restaurant, taking it from a run-down husk to the most popular eatery in the city. It might not sound like the most fun, but there's a real allure to this one. It's the sort of game that you're going to sink hours of your time into whether you mean to or not.
