Abi A Robot's Tale

Oh look, it's Friday. And at Friday here at 148Apps we like to round up the best games that are currently on sale on the App Store. After all, what better time to save yourself a bit of money than the weekend? I can't think of one. Can you?

It's not the greatest week on record, but then the amount of incredible new games that have landed recently sort of make up for that. Make sure you pop back in seven days time when we'll be throwing even more awesome deals in your direction. And if you think we've missed anything, let us know in the comments.

Out There Chronicles Episode One - Download for iOS (Now free)

With the second game in the series landing this week, it's high time to check out this excellent first episode. It's set in the same universe as the wonderful Out There, and sees you choosing your own adventure in the deep black of outerspace. The art is great, the writing is great, and for nothing you'd be silly not picking it up.

Icewind Dale - Download for iOS (Now $4.99)

A classic of the Western RPG, shrunk down so that it fits nicely on mobile. It might get a little bit fiddly from time to time, but there's so much adventuring to be done here that it's almost churlish to complain. If you've not experienced this wonderful, involving game, then now's as good a time as ever to give it a go.

Abi: A Robot's Tale - Download for iOS (Now 99c)

The sort of game that you just want to look at. I mean, seriously, it's one of the best looking things I've set eyes on for a good long time. And it's a really smart point-and-click adventure on top of that. It's fun, it's stuffed full of heart, and it's got loads of super cute robots in it. For less than the price of a coffee you'd be silly not to pick this up.

Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty - Download for iOS (Now $4.99)

If you're old enough to remember the first time this game out, then congratulations, you're probably quite old. A funny, puzzling platformer set in one of the weirdest worlds that gaming has ever come up with. It's full of farts, jokes, and the sort of world-building that makes you want to dive as deep into the experience as you possibly can.

The House of Da Vinci - Download for iOS (Now $2.99)

If you're a fan of the Room games, then you're going to love everything that this one has to offer. Plenty of mechanical puzzles to poke your way through, and a really neat art style that draws you in. Throw in an excellent story and you're left with a great, if sometimes overlooked, adventure.
