Adobe has just released a creative app named Adobe Voice; the utility is geared towards making it easy for users to create animated video in very little time. No filming is required; users can select from more than 25,000 images that reflect an idea and vision, tell the narrative that needs to be expressed, and the app takes care of the rest by attaching cinematic motion and a musical score. Completed creations can be shared via social networks, or disseminated by other means.
As MacRumors notes, the output hearkens more to animated slideshows than true video, but the draw is probably in the simplicity of operation.
Adobe Voice is available for free on the App Store.
Nintendo has announced a new feature especially geared towards smartphone-using fans of its upcoming Wii gamem Mario Kart 8. The web service, tentatively known as Mario Kart TV, builds upon the ability of players to share race footage on the internet; the mobile device-ready video feature should be available to right around the official release of the game.
According to investor information presented by Nintendo, the service “will enable more people to easily watch Nintendo’s official videos, view rankings, watch videos that their friends have shared and videos of tournaments in which they have participated. We will work on providing this type of service so that players can enjoy video games more and be in contact with them even when they are not in front of a video game system.”
No release date has been confirmed but, as noted, the service should go live at the end of the month (5/30) – around the time Mario Kart 8 is released.

Createrria, the interesting app maker within an app from Incuvo, has just received a big update. The update adds leaderboards, parental controls, seasonal content, and more. From the developer’s website:
Most important new features and changes are:
- Holiday content: Icon, splash, new avatar and new profile decorations

- Possibility to easy showcase creations to other players
- High score leaderboards
- Parental Controls for online features and in-app purchases

Createrria, as noted, allows players to use the tools it provides to create and share platform games. We reviewed the game late last year; it is available for free on the App Store.
The current app maintains most of the elements that make the game so popular: the ability to craft and manage output. Facebook is not required, and the game is careful to allow players to consume the game in time chunks that work for them. It also has a new social control mode, which allows users to play anonymously or connect on social networks, enjoy connected rewards, and even play in offline mode.
“FarmVille pioneered social gaming on the web, and with FarmVille 2: Country Escape we’ve reimagined the franchise as a mobile experience to match how players want to connect with their farm and with their friends,” says Jonathan Knight, vice president of games at Zynga. “The foundation of the mobile game was built on listening to player feedback, so we’ve added features such as giving players the choice to play with friends or on their own, connectivity between the mobile game and FarmVille 2 on Facebook and the ability to play offline. We’ve created an experience where all FarmVille fans will feel right at home. As we focus on growing and sustaining this beloved franchise, we’re proud for FarmVille 2: Country Escape to usher in a new chapter of FarmVille on the go.”
Farmville 2: Country Escape is available for free on the App Store.
