I'm a husband, writer, photographer, weather geek, aviation nut, sports dude, achievement addict, and coffee connoisseur. I do love a nice cup of coffee. Well, two cups. OK, an entire pot! It helps fuel my passion for writing. I also love shoot’em up titles and challenging for top positions on leaderboards. I’m an all-around gamer who owns too many consoles and handhelds. iPhone App - Designed for iPhone, compatible with iPad

Lightning Fighter 2 let go of its $0.99 price tag; making the game available for free for the next three days.

In our review, Blake Grundman said, “While it certainly isn’t blazing any new trails, Lightning Fighter 2 is a perfectly competent shoot ‘em up that is more approachable than most of its peers. A ninety nine cent investment for a game with this level of visual polish is more than justified, as long as players have the will power to avoid shelling out for an easy pay-to-win victory.”

Sir Hoppity: Challenge of the Dragon, a side-scrolling adventure game that released last week, is the work of eight year-old Benjamin Howard. He designed and created the game that features cartoon creatures, treasures, and a multi-level world, and said in a press release that “I wanted the game to have three levels: a dark forest, a desert, and a volcano. I wanted a desert with rolling sand dunes, and I picked a volcano because I thought dragons and volcanoes go good together.”

Coded Velocity is the game studio that added programming and art support for the game. It’s a studio that’s founded by Benjamin’s father – Kevin Howard.

“For our first mobile title, we opted to give my son full creative freedom to develop the story, characters, levels, and bosses,” explained Kevin. “He is a huge fan of adventure games such as Zelda, Mega Man, and Swordigo. You can pick out his influences immediately in the finished game. The result is a fun, cute, and surprisingly challenging adventure game.”

“I’ve worked in software for decades, and this has been the most rewarding project I’ve ever been a part of,” continued Kevin. “I’m so proud of my son and I can’t wait to see what he comes up with next!”
