App Description
Have you ever received a red light or speed camera ticket? If you answered yes, this app is right for you. If you answered no, this app is also right for you. This app is designed to help people who drive in Chicago become aware of when they are approaching a Speed Camera or Red Light Camera. This app is intended to make the streets safer for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.
How it works: after opening for the first time this app will play a sound when you approach a speed or red light camera. If the app is open when you approach, the app will also verbally alert you of the upcoming camera. If the app is closed and running in the background it will simply play a sound. Note: if the app is not running in the background, the alert will not function.
You can also view all of the cameras in Chicago as a map. In addition, you can view the cameras as a list. To ensure maximum accuracy, the app uses the city’s published data to locate the cameras.
Disclaimer: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
