Love to crochet, but hate to interpret pattern language? Secrets of the Pyramids is your guide to a new world of freed creativity. The focus is on particular techniques, which unlock various geometric shapes. A truly unlimited variety of projects is created by combining the geometric shapes into…well, ANYTHING you can imagine!

This series is aimed at the discouraged crocheter, confused and irritated by all the “rules” – i.e., precision in stitch counts, symmetry, swatching, blocking, ripping out work that isn’t perfect, etc.  In the subversive heart of Secrets is the notion that all of that can be tossed aside – and beautiful art is still attainable, perhaps even more so, by nurturing the creative spirit that we share as human beings.

Drawing from the visions of over three hundred and fifty 3-D and 2-D artists worldwide, as well as contributions from talented voice artists set to fourteen inspiring songs - “Secrets” depicts Ancient Egypt as it was (or might have been), in celebration of this fabulous culture.

To begin Segment 3, Princess Neferhotep recounts the story of a strange childhood – of having been designated by the Oracle to become the repository of the Secrets, and then sent away at a young age to live with the “strangers” for training. In time, she states that she did learn many valuable secrets. With the help of the “Golden Man” Ramses, the secrets of the Equilateral triangle (and the “sharp points” required to make it) are explored in detail. But, she asks, are there secrets that perhaps can never be known?

Segment 3-1: The Sharp-Points Technique (for all angles). Using it to build Wings, and sharp-point gold rims on those Wings. Using it to build sharp-point rims, and partial rims, on various types of triangles – resulting in a startling variety of triangular forms with a strikingly different look from ordinary crochet.

Segment 3-2: The Equilateral Triangle uses the Sharp-points technique in its construction, and is presented in both one-color or multiple-color charts, with variations in size and color. Rimming the Equilateral with gold and silver, both around the outer edge and spiraling out from the center. The Golden Cobra as applied to the Equilateral. The new Golden “Eye of Horus” technique. And perhaps the greatest of the Secrets? – The hidden Third Loop and its use, and what to do when it’s missing.

Segment 3-3:  Extreme Decrease, the reverse image of the Sharp-Points technique. Similarly flexible and powerful, the Extreme Decrease technique can be used in many different ways. In combination with other techniques, the possibilities are truly endless! At segment’s end, all of the triangles are reviewed in a “dance”.
