A great app

This is a great app. You have to be patient with the voice recognition system. Speak slowly and pause between the elements of the calculation. The great thing about this app is that when there is an error in understanding your dictation, you can switch to keyboard mode and correct the mistake. I think it would still be wise to divide a long list of numbers to be added into groups so that mistakes can be found more easily. Try it, you can’t go wrong.

Powerful, with a nice tutorial (but tweaks would be nice)

Does so many things, and voice recognition is a great feature. Even in just doing the tutorial, however, I have a wishlist of features. I wish that you could tap-scroll to correct what you have entered in keyboard entry mode. I got so frustrated while doing the last tutorial entry; I must have entered it 5 times before I could get it just right. In combo with this feature, it would be nice if you could click an entry in your history, have it become active again, and then tap-scroll through the entry to modify it. It would also be nice if I could switch between voice entry and keyboard entry without losing what has been entered. It is frustrating to dictate a large string, only to have a recognition error at the end, with my only editing option being to cancel the whole string. Lastly, there is a point in the tutorial where "calculation" is misspelled.

Update Please!

This is the only app that I am aware of that accepts dictated numbers. And it works! I would love to see an update that includes “equals” in the dictated computation to make it even more hands free. Also, an option for a simple calculator with history would be nice for those of us who appreciate the calculator but do not require all its scientific components however wonderful they might be. If the developer does not wish to update, Apple should purchase the programming if they can and offer a decent calculator that does what this one does: voice dictation.
