Two special exhibitions at the High Museum of Art are featured in this application. Cézanne and the Modern: Masterpieces of European Art from the Pearlman Collection includes paintings and sculptures by revolutionary modern artists such as Cézanne, Degas, Manet, van Gogh, Toulouse-Lautrec, Modigliani, and Soutine. Make a Joyful Noise: Renaissance Art and Music at Florence Cathedral presents splendid fifteenth-century marble panels from Luca della Robbia's organ loft, or Cantoria, on view outside of Italy for the first time. The panels are accompanied by illuminated choir books used during services at the Florence Cathedral.
This Acoustiguide Mobile Application includes an Adult Tour and a Kids Tours. The Adult Tour is narrated by Michael Shapiro, Nancy and Holcombe T. Greene, Jr. Director of the High, and features interviews with David Brenneman, Frances B. Bunzl Curator of European Art; Matthew Simms, professor of Art History at California State University Long Beach; Gary Radke, consulting curator of Italian Art and professor of Art History at Syracuse University; and Philip Verre, the High's Chief Operating Officer. The Kids Tour is a playful journey through both exhibitions led by two colorful characters. It introduces concepts related to history and art history as well as French and Italian vocabulary.
