Butler Health Plan has provided competitive medical and dental benefits to school districts in southwest Ohio for over 27 years. Building on that success, Butler Health Plan looked to the future and helped create a multi-state consortium, Optimal Health Initiatives that now includes over 80 public employers and represents 40,000 employees and their families.

The consortium is made up of employers who have come together to save money by maximizing the dollars spent on employee benefits. Partnering with other public employers gives Butler Health Plan better purchasing power which means larger discounts and ultimately lower costs for members. Butler Health Plan’s success is demonstrated with lower than market premiums and stable rate increases. Historically our rates are among the lowest in southwest Ohio.

With more than 40,000 members, the consortium can leverage the larger scale of the entire group, obtain competitive rates and offer unique wellness programs. Wellness grants, on-site health risk assessments with biometric testing and a dedicated nurse coach are some of the many features that comprise the wellness strategy to keep our members healthy.
