About the book:
A young prince hopes to be married, but not one of the princesses he meets is good enough for him. One night a bedraggled young woman arrives in the rain saying she is a princess. The queen gives her a bed, placing a pea beneath 20 mattresses. When the girl can't sleep because of discomfort from the pea, it proves she's a princess. She and the prince marry and live happily ever after. Hans Christian Andersen included his retelling of the original Danish story in an 1835 publication.
