App Description

Half Life Hero is a fun educational app that teaches about nuclear medicines and industrial isotopes and their benefits to society.

Teachers and students will find this app useful in supporting science education in the classroom and practising on the go.

This game puts the player in control of ANSTO’s radio-isotope production process. Orders are received from hospitals, medical research laboratories or industry, and the player fills them by using ANSTO’s reactor to create materials such as Iodine, Molybdenum, Lutetium, etc.

To fill these orders, the player must submerge raw materials in the nuclear reactor pool where they are exposed to neutrons. Once the materials are removed from the pool their decay begins at a speed that is related to their half-lives. Under the pressure of time, the player must process materials through two stages before they are shipped throughout Australia and overseas.

Features
* Suitable for beginners to intermediate learners of all ages
* Features six isotopes created in nuclear reactors including Iodine-131, Molybdenum-99, Iridium-192, Cobalt-60, Lutetium -177 and Silicon-31.
* Mobile and web app
