App Description

The official application of the exhibition “From Watteau to Fragonard, les fêtes galantes”, presented at the Jacquemart-André Museum from 14 March to 21 July 2014, offers a guided tour of the exhibition with the commentary on 20 works of art, reproduced in full screen definition.

This ultra high definition iPhone & iPad version allows you to get every detail from the masterpieces with its incredibly deep zooming abilities.

This exhibition invites you to discover the most famous French artists in France during the 18th century and the poetical term « fête galante » whose central figure was Jean-Antoine Watteau (1684-1721). Inspired by images of bucolic merrymaking in the Flemish tradition, Watteau and his followers (Pater, Boucher, Fragonard…) created a new form characterised by greater subtlety and nuance.
