Big changes, friends!

Support for Nice To Be Your Friend is being phased out; this final version brings the Audiobus and MIDIbus libraries up to date, and also adds support for the latest versions of iOS, so that you can keep using the app for years to come.

We have also added many of the features of Infinite Looper, a new app that is now the primary development focus. In addition to the dual back-to-back keyboards of the original NTBYF, this version adds six tracks of MIDI looping, Ableton Link synchronization, and support for IAA synthesizer hosting. There are also ten pages of programmable pads, for playing chords.

The only thing missing from NTBYF that is in Infinite Looper is the ability to save sets of loops, and to record audio directly within the app. We have also made a bundle available, so that you can upgrade from NTBYF to Infinite Looper at a reduced price.

App Description

Nice To Be Your Friend is a friendly, easy to use synthesizer, with full support for MIDI, IAA, musicIO, Audiobus, and Ableton Link. A unique feature of the app has been dual keyboards, one of which is oriented so that you can play music with a friend.

With version 2.0, the app has changed significantly -- we've added in most of the features of Infinite Looper, our new MIDI looping app. There are six instrument tracks, with each track being able to record and play multiple simultaneous loops. The app will record your playing, and quantize it if you like. Use the app to build up complex looping sections, and construct a complete song.

There are also ten pages of configurable pads for playing chords. NTBYF has all of the features of Infinite Looper, except the ability to save your loops, and to record audio -- and with bundle pricing, it's easy to upgrade if you like!

Using the low-latency MIDI over USB provided by musicIO, you can use the app to sequence synthesizers in desktop DAWs. You can also export MIDI arrangements directly from the app to your desktop or iOS DAW.

This app features the Ableton Link library, Audiobus support, with the MIDI routing handled by the excellent MIDIbus library from Audeonic Apps (the makers of MIDIbridge).
