App Description
Founded in 1974, Linking Publishing Company has published nearly six thousand titles. Since 2010, Linking has ventured into the field of digital publishing, which results in various types of digital publications. In 2012, Linking set off an innovative project which took one year to complete: Taiwan History APP.
Taiwan History APP covers the history from the time that Taiwan is known to the outside world to the end of World War II. With more than 80 pages, divided into 18 sections, grouped under 6 chapters, the APP utilizes interactive multimedia to illustrate every crucial moment in Taiwan history.
The design team of the APP integrates a large number of antique photographs and maps, audio/video clips, animations and 3D models with an elegantly hand-illustrated touch, which perfectly captures the feel of history.
History is in constant flow. Through interactive multimedia, this APP illustrates the progression of historical events so that the users can re-visit Zeelandia city, Santo Domingo Fort and ancient Taipei city from a 3D perspective and fully experience the settings of historical events.
The text in the APP is incisive, incorporating the latest academic findings, analyzing the causal relations of historical events, which makes it an ideal teaching aid for high school teachers and a perfect companion for general readers interesting in Taiwan history.
