App Description
This app is made to practice mental arithmetic and times tables for kids aged 9 to 12 years.
The game is relatively fast and requires that the child has already learnt mental math skills to a certain degree. It thus is a complement to standard mental math trainings
such as Times Tables (HD).
The game offers several levels with increasing difficulty. The aim of the game is to fight off an alien attack, by building up shields. A new shield is obtained by solving a mental calculation.
The app supports two game modes. The first mode is about solving problems directly.
In mode 2, the kid has to determine the divisors of a given number. For example, the number 35 has the divisors, 5 and 7. The kid can now build up shields for the houses in row 5 or 7.
The second game mode is a preliminary exercise to calculate fractions, as identifying potential divisors is a core competency needed for fraction calculation.
