Featuring America's best barbecue restaurants, competitions, and events whether they be well-known or brand-new, this always-changing app updates constantly as its authors travel country in search of America's best barbecue.
Here's how barbecue joints made the cut in this app: We had to personally experience them, and we had to have a good enough overall experience that we would recommend them to you. Scientific? Heck, no. Practical? You bet.
So consider this a work in progress. We are delighted to hear from people across this great barbecue nation about their favorite joint. And we promise to do our best to explore and uncover to the best of our capabilities and cholesterol levels.
• About the Authors •
Travel journalists Sally Walker Davies and Diana Lambdin Meyer, based in Memphis,Tennessee and Kansas City, Missouri respectively, have eaten a lot of barbecue in their lifetimes.
Sally is the author of Tennessee: An Explorer’s Guide and along with Stephanie Jones, photographer for the Memphis portion of BBQ Nation, authored the Elvis-theme travel app King Me: The Elvis Tour.
Diana is a member and a certified judge of the Kansas City Barbecue Society. Her husband Bruce, with camera in hand, has willingly visited a majority of the barbecue joints in Kansas City and never passes that smokey goodness as they travel the world.
Together, Diana and Bruce created Kansas City Uncovered and St. Louis Uncovered, also by Sutro Media and available on iTunes.
June Naylor in Texas and Beverly Hurley in North Carolina are contributors to this app, along with a few trusted connoisseurs of excellent barbeque.
