Description

BerryCam now has additional support for the new Raspberry Pi HQ Camera Module. Annotate images, or use the location of your iOS device to geotag captured images.

* This app requires a Raspberry Pi with installed Camera Module to work *

Use your iOS device to control the Raspberry Pi camera module. Control exposure modes, special effects for still images with the simple interface - no need to learn complex SSH commands.

Quickly and easily preview your images on the iOS device and save to your camera roll. The same images are also saved to your Raspberry Pi.

A great way to experiment with the possibilities of the Raspberry Pi camera or to kickstart that IoT project you always wanted to do.

Update coming?

App needs to be updated to incorporate the recent changes in PI OS camera commands.

I like the app, it would be a lot more useful if the GUI incorporated timelapse and video - basically an open source GoPro.

No Live Preview

Not having such an expected function doesn’t help the experience.

Since there is no live preview there is now way of knowing what the picture will look like before taking a pic.

Developer Response ,

Hi there... something to consider in the future but yeh focus is on making this as easy to get up and running as possible for most folks without the need to set up complex streaming applications on their Pi. Once I have posted an upcoming update on the app itself, I’ll take a look and see what options I can consider. Hope the inconvenience of not previewing doesn’t hinder you too much... I liken it to using an old film camera and it’s quite fun not knowing what you’re going to get

Great Way to Explore the Raspberry Pi Camera Features

Easy to set up. Works great. Makes it simple to explore the many features of the camera. I've tried exposure and FX settings so far. Only used it inside for now because I don't have portable power for the Raspberry Pi. Don't expect rapid frame or video shooting. Do expect camera control under many lighting conditions and an easy way to play with the camera (no Linux command line with flags).
