Probably my favorite iPhone game of all time.

Only One takes the cake, and that is not a lie. I used to play quite a few IOS games; out of all of them, I remember this game the most, and now that I have hardly any time to play games any more I still play this one.

The arcade style game play makes it easy to spend a few minutes here and there de-stressing with some hack-and-slash action; the retro graphics, music, and sword-and-sorcery theme take me back to all the paperback sci-fi / fantasy novels I read as a kid, and overall the pacing and level-based incentives of the game make every moment worthwhile.

I would highly recommend this game to anyone looking for a fun time, whether it be just for a few moments, or for an all-night marathon with your friends.

Now: I’m gonna keep playing this game for as long as it’s out there, and I think it’ll always be a rewarding experience regardless of whether new features continue to be added; that said, I’d be somewhat disappointed if it were to be abandoned as a project. My thoughts on new features include maybe allowing another game mode where the character moves as far as they can down a corridor fighting enemies, or perhaps more power options like a chain lightning type deal or an enchantment effect that can make enemies fight one another.

Regardless, thank you so much for this wonderful game! I hope it continues to receive the praise and support that it so richly deserves.

Playing through it is so worth it!

Only One is a fantastic game and one of my favorites of all time. I have known about it since I was a young lad, and recently, as a Senior in high school have renewed my love for it.

I love how the story is simple yet ambiguous, and little easter eggs like the cake and the Dark Knight with the same sword as you leave a lot for the player to imagine for themselves.

The difficulty is quite possibly the best part. Especially for those without ultimate power, the reward for reaching and beating wave 100 makes the hours of gameplay so worth it. (learning the intricacies of how the enemies work, using the daily sacrifice to wipe out an entire wave late game, etc.)

I have tried speed-running the game as a free to play player, and managed to beat it in 4 days time- playing 1-2 hours a day. In the future, I hope to get even better at it and possibly even stream or something haha.

The replay value is also not to be taken lightly. Purchasing ultimate power and running through the game over again, and seeing how far you can get in endless mode is also really fun.

If there was a couple things I would suggest, it would just be to add more of everything! I seriously think this is truly a great game that deserves a lot more attention.

Good concept, and what seems to be purposely janky controls

This game has a good concept, decent combat assuming the controls aren't being dumb, w fun way to upgrade your character and interesting enemies. This could be such a good game if it wasn't for one thing. The controls are horrid. Or not the controls but the coins and earth quakes. First the coins, they seem to have been designed to dodge the player and lead the player to fall of the island and lead them into enemy attacks, which isn't fun. Making it risky to get things is fun but not when it's because you can't control if you actually grab the item or not. It's bad and the coins should just have a tinge of magnetism towards the player so your character dosent have to run over the coin three times to pick it up. And then theres the earth quakes. They aren't at all fun. It's good that they have a warning but it doesn't matter when you can't do anything about it. But an archers aim and arrows won't have any issue with it so you can get hit by like 3 arrows per earth quake.
