App Description
ScanMyCodes was built to support technicians in the deployment of iOS devices. After installing SMC on your devices using a tool like Apple Configurator™, Quickly scan in each devices Serial number, WiFi address and Device Name into your existing inventory system. You can use any barcode scanner you already have for this task, but scanning these with another iOS device running ScanMyCodes allows you to scan all three items in one single scan and email the data as a tab-delimited file for import in your organization's inventory or MDM system.
ScanMyCodes thus allows you to pre-populate your MDM with user information and device information and ensure devices are ready to use immediately.
When you need to service a device, ScanMyCodes is a quick way to identify each device from your inventory system by scanning it's codes. This alleviates the use of external barcode labels which can be removed or unreadable over time.
ScanMyCodes becomes your virtual Asset Tag!
How to use it:
On your devices, simply open ScanMyCodes and have it display that device's Serial Number and Wi-Fi MAC address as barcodes or QR Codes. Then, use ScanMyCodes on your main device to scan this information into a database which you can export via email and include in your inventory systems. ScanMyCodes was built for technicians who manage large quantity of iOS devices and need to identify them quickly for maintenance, identification or repair.
Displaying codes is free as well as managing a list of up to 5 devices. Enable longer lists via an in-app purchase.
