Ever wondered how optical illusions are created? With Illusive, you can now create them with your own photos. The resulting picture looks like an ordinary pattern when viewed up-close, only revealing the hidden image when tilted or viewed from far.

After selecting your image, choose the type of pattern you want to use to render your pictures. You can also vary the number of elements used or change the contrast to make it more or less obvious. Share your creations via Facebook, Twitter or Weibo. Illusive also exports up to 16 megapixels so that you can print them as posters and hang around your walls at home.

THE MAKING OF ILLUSIVE

Following Emojify, Illusive is the second of a series of art apps to be published by VoidWorks, a very young studio based in Singapore, which builds unique iOS apps, websites as well as generative software for installations. The core functionality of Illusive is developed on a weekend.

FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS

More patterns are already being created and will be available in the near future, together with colour options.
