Ethos:
Northcliff High School is an English medium, co-educational high school which provides a disciplined and nurturing environment and sound value system for the development of responsible young adults and enables them to achieve high levels of academic and extra-mural success.

Setting:
Conveniently situated in the leafy suburb of Blackheath, adjacent to Northcliff Hill, in the North-West of Johannesburg.

History:
Northcliff High School officially started on 14 January 1969, with Mr Ged Dickerson as headmaster. In 1986, Mr Peter Cawdry took over the post of principal and upon his retirement at the end of 1997, Mr David Klein took up the post of headmaster. Our current headmaster, Mr Walter Essex-Clark, was appointed in 2003. From the very early days all the way through to the present, Northcliff High School has lived up to its motto ‘Nihil Tam Altum’ – Nothing So High that courage cannot scale it. Today the school is widely recognised as one of the finest co-educational schools in South Africa.
