Welcome to West Carrollton, Ohio! West Carrollton is located below the city of Dayton in southwestern Ohio. The city is surrounded by Miami Township, within Montgomery County. West Carrollton was formed from the combination of two smaller towns: Carrollton, a town on the Miami Canal that was north of Miamisburg and was platted in 1830; and Alexanderville, a small town platted in 1815 on the Miami Canal that was just north of Carrollton, which is now the current downtown area.
