----- Following It reproduces from a Luoyang 33 place Kannon pilgrimage. -----
The Luoyang 33 place pilgrimage is said to have provided the origin in the last stage the end [ the Heian period ] as what Emperor Go-Shirakawa replaces with the Pilgrimage to the Thirty-three Holy Places of Kannon in the Western Provinces with a difficult pilgrimage in a wide area.
The amulet-issuing office of 33 temples which start in Gyogan-temple around the Takazo Ei year (1431) of the Muroma age, and it finishes with north Tenman-gu was established.
Then, by the amulet-issuing office abolition by the Onin War etc., although it was on the decline without よぎ, as for a Luoyang 33 place Kannon pilgrimage, a pilgrimage comes to be performed again at the Edo period.
It was restored by Emperor Reigen's royal command, the amulet-issuing office of 33 was appointed, it started in Rokkaku-do, and the usual route which finishes with Seiwain became general in Kanbun era 5 (1665).
it is said from an aristocrat to [ noting that it comes to describe also in the account of famous-place guidance of published Kyoto those days and Anraku of the world and a next world is obtained ] people that many pilgrims were gathered.
Although there are customs of the Kannon worship involving the seven Kannons in Kyoto for many years, Luoyang 33 temple has a field of succession and development of a Kannon pilgrimage unique to Kyoto, and two fields of imitation and a transplant of a pilgrimage.
Although it has very interesting genealogy, that the divine favor of a statue of the Goddess of Kannon can be obtained anyway more close could call it the charm of a こお Luoyang 33 place pilgrimage.
I am pleased if more people can worship at a nearby amulet-issuing office freely.
