What's New

We hope you'll like this one. We've got some big features and bug fixes in this release. Here's a quick overview:

- Get back to the book you had open with RECENTLY READ!
- Keep your page with AUTOMATIC BOOKMARKS!
- No more loading bars. Experience STREAMING COMICS!
- CUSTOMER SERVICE and other improvements!

Read on for details.

In this release we wanted to address one of your biggest gripes: losing your place when the app closes in the background. To that end, we've introduced a new Recently Read section on the home screen. This section shows the most recent issue you had open in each series so you can quickly get back to what you were reading if the app shuts down in the background.

What does that mean? If you start from Superior Spider-Man #1, read to issue #5 and then close the app, #5 will appear in Recently Read when you reopen it. This way you can get back to it instantly. It also allows you to track your progress through multiple series simultaneously (up to 20 of them). Give it a try!

But then we decided that just getting you back to the book you were reading wasn't fast enough, so…

The app now remembers what page you were on in each book you open. Reopen a book you were only partially through and it'll automatically start from that page. It will also remember your Smart Panel preferences per book as icing on the cake.

But then we decided that just getting you back to the PAGE you were reading wasn't fast enough, so…

We got rid of the loading bar you used to see before you could read a comic. Now instead of waiting for the whole comic to load, you can start reading immediately while the rest of the pages load in the background. If you resume a comic in the middle, it'll start loading from where you were. Also, when you approach the end of an issue, the app will automatically start loading the next one in the series. It's perfect for long reading sessions! (Adaptive Audio comics still need to be preloaded due to the timing of the sound effects.)

But just in case you're still experiencing problems…

We've made big changes to our Customer Service department, and we've improved the Customer Service emails within the app to match. Now when you send us email from within the app, it'll be prefilled with some very helpful information (such as your iOS version) that will help us resolve your problem faster. If you’re reporting a problem with a book, we’ll fill in the comic details for you. You can send these emails anytime you’re in a book by tapping the gear icon to open Settings, then tap Contact Us: Email Us.

This release also contains a number of crash fixes.

We'll never ask you for reviews in the app because we don't want to get between you and your comics. If you love Marvel Unlimited, we'd really appreciate it if you left a review on the App Store. Having problems? Send them to the new Customer Service team: onlinesupport@marvel.com.
