App Description

Spelling just got a lot more fun with Spelling With Food, a spelling game for kids.

Spelling With Food is an uncomplicated game that helps students learn to identify and spell different things to eat. When you begin, a food photograph appears under a jumbled word. Players must rearrange the letters to spell the food item correctly by dragging the letters into the correct boxes. So, the player must identify the photo and unscramble the letters. A correct answer confirms the word, for example - “pizza” - with an audio cue.

Scoring is based on how many you get right in a row, or “streak.” The “best streak” and “current streak” is displayed on the screen. A correct answer, therefore, adds one to the current streak. After an incorrect answer, the app automatically moves onto another food and the current streak is reset at 0. This scoring method encourages healthy competition with others as well as motivates players to beat themselves.

Parents and teachers, engage your beginning spellers with a fun subject - food! Includes 48 full-color photographs of food - extending from kid favorites like french toast and cookies to healthy foods like avocado and asparagus - to ensure plenty of bang for your buck!
