As teachers of this science know, chemistry is exciting. Not only does it explain the world around us - including medicine, cooking, cleaning, and environmental issues - it is the basis for fireworks and explosions! However, studying for chemistry can be boring - especially when it comes to memorization.

Periodic Table Spelling is an uncomplicated game that helps students of chemistry learn the chemical elements. The game consists of a standard periodic table of elements and a series of letters and blanks. When you begin, an element on the chart is highlighted and the letters of the element appear, but they are mixed up. With your finger, the player drags the letters in the right order to correctly spell out the element.

The scoring is based on how many you get right in a row, or “streak.” The “best streak” and “current streak” is displayed on the screen. This encourages healthy competition with others as well as the motivation to improve your own streak.
