The Wood Awards is the UK’s premier architecture and furniture competition celebrating excellence in design in the world’s most sustainable material. The Wood Awards is the most respected award for building and design in wood.
The Wood Awards was started in 1971 as the Carpenters’ Award and re-launched in 2003 as the Wood Awards. The aim of the Wood Awards is to recognise, encourage and promote outstanding design, craftsmanship and installation in wood, and be a source of inspiration.
As an annual competition, the Wood Awards creates a publication detailing the winners of this year’s awards. The entire team involved in the design and realisation of the winning projects are credited, along with details of the timber and wood products used and how these contribute to the creation of award-winning buildings and furniture.
This iPad/iPhone edition brings you the full 36 page Wood Awards 2012 magazine, along with extra content, including more photography and video of the winning projects.
This app is totally free, and was made possible by the American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC).
The sponsors of the Wood Awards include leading organisations involved in wood marketing and education in the UK. Canada Wood is the latest organisation to join the major sponsors of the Wood Awards, including AHEC, Carpenters’ Company and Wood for Good. Other sponsors include TRADA, American Softwoods and BRE.
