Maui's most famous and spectacular drive. The Road to Hana is all about the journey and adventure to get to Hana and its is recommended to continue past Hana as far as Kipahulu and the Seven Sacred Pools. The road has 620 curves and 59 bridges, 46 of which are single lane along its 68 mile length. The road hugs between the rocky coastline as it weaves in and around ravines and gulches on the side of Haleakala. The landscape is mostly tropical rainforest with many spectacular waterfalls along the way.
The are many excellent stops along the route and GyPSy will help you decide which are the must-do stops along the way. There are some excellent swimming beaches along the route too so be prepared. Other striking features include bamboo forests, black sand beaches and lava rock formations.
GyPSy will be your guide and entertain you all the way. As travel around the backside of Haleakala is prohibited by most rental car contracts, our tour returns back to Paia with all new commentary to keep you fascinated with stories of Hawaiian culture.
