App Description

Experts estimate there are 25.8 million people in the United States with diabetes, 7 million are undiagnosed and 79 million have pre-diabetes. Diabetes is the leading cause of kidney failure, non-traumatic lower-limb amputations, and new cases of blindness among adults in the United States. It is a major cause of heart disease and stroke and the seventh leading cause of death in the United States.

The diagnosis of diabetes raises many questions. In particular, new patients ask about the causes, the course, and the treatment options of the disease. This app will help the patient and their relatives to understand diabetes better and answer the most commonly asked questions. Furthermore, the app provides information about new treatments and practical advice for daily activities.

Under “Tools”, the app allows a user to calculate Body Mass Index (BMI), convert HbA1c (A1c) into blood glucose, and contains the World Health Organization (WHO) Well-Being Score to help monitor their emotional state.
