App Description

Sidecastr for iPad™
We Bring the Conversation to You. Social TV... On Your Schedule.

Sidecastr for iPad is a free service that works like a second screen DVR for the capture and playback of tweets, comments, and conversations posted to the web during live broadcasts. All comments are organized onto a visual timeline and timed to play out in perfect sync with your own viewing timeframe - whether you're watching a show 100% live, a few minutes delayed, or streamed via the web at some later date. Sidecastr’s archive of social comments for current and past covered shows is always available, and works with a large and growing list of the top tweeted shows, televised sports, and special events.

Before Sidecastr, watching in real-time was your only option to co-view and participate in 'about-the-moment' tweets and comments. Watch a few minutes delayed and you and the social stream are out of sync. Watch on your own schedule any time afterwards, and the live stream is gone. Watch in later timezones, and your twitter stream is filled with spoilers from ET/CT.

Sidecastr fixes all that. We bring the conversation to you, whenever and however you watch.

What it does:

• Automatically detects what you’re watching - and at what second - in order to synchronize playback of live-captured tweets, replies, retweets and sidecasts

• Organizes comments into several show specific category 'feeds' displayed as independent visual timelines, allowing you to customize the social content you see and add new sources of content as they’re made available

• Offers a growing list of feeds:
- linking to your Facebook account adds a 'My Friends' feed showing all comments from you and your FB friends, making it easy to reply and have conversations with them, even if you're not all watching at the same time
- Tweets during live broadcasts from cast, celebrities, and select superfans are organized into 'VIP' feeds

• Improves the quality and selection of show and scene specific tweets you see. Superfans live-curate the twitter stream during shows to pull in scene-specific tweets while distilling out 'twitter spam' such as auto-generated check-ins, robo-tweets, non-show specific comments, and overly generic comments

• Fully supports tweeting and FB posting of your comments while watching. By signing into Twitter, all of your comments, replies, and likes can also be sent as tweets, @replies, and retweets. Any replies and retweets display instantly. And by linking to Facebook, any of your comments can also post to your FB timeline. Automated show 'check-ins' supported as well

Sidecastr covers a growing list of top ranked social TV shows, as measured by social comment activity. Over 30 shows, 250 episodes, and 350 hours of TV are available as of Oct/12. Examples: The Voice (NBC), Pretty Little Liars (ABCFM), The Walking Dead (AMC), Sunday Night Football (NBC), Real Housewives of NYC (Bravo), The Presidential Debates, and the MTV Video Music Awards. (Full list at www.sidecastr.com).

***** Here's what the Media is saying: ******
• Sidecastr "pulls in and organises tweets around specific shows, but more importantly shows them in sync with an episode. Say you’re watching a recorded episode of Breaking Bad a day after it aired – Sidecastr will show you what people were saying at the time." - The Guardian (UK)

•"indispensable... innovative... awesome.. must be added to your arsenal..." - 148Apps: Sidecastr Turns the Past Into the Future

•"integrates fully with Twitter... both inbound and outbound... something I haven't seen on many other social TV apps." -Lost Remote
